It’s important to start the New Year off right. With a team that’s distributed across the country, including people who work on-site and remotely, we gathered everyone in Albuquerque for a couple days of face time and fun.

Many hands make for light work. They make for a good time, too! Here’s a recap of what took place at our two-day All Hands meeting, which also included an evening outing at Top Golf.

Day 1 – Tuesday, January 23

After breakfast, the first day kicked off with opening remarks and a recap of last year from CEO Todd Sickles. 2023 was quite the year for BioFlyte, including tripling our corporate and manufacturing space, a successful pilot of our technology at Pittsburgh International Airport, raising $5.4 million Series B financing, validating aerosolized Fentanyl detection capabilities and more.

After everyone received well-earned congratulations on results from the previous year, Market Segment Directors Scott Pickett and Kevin Jarboe joined Todd Sickles to provide a look ahead at 2024. Together, they outlined key objectives and opportunities for the year, along with a customer snapshot.

Following a quick break, Sales and Corporate Support Lead Jackie LaReau guided our first breakout session, which focused on delivering an outstanding customer experience and gave participants the opportunity to cross-functionally develop creative and strategic responses to the problems presented.

Then it was time for lunch, with managers sharing observations and learnings from the first breakout session afterwards. The next session featured VP of Product Dan Gussin and VP of Manufacturing Bill Rule focusing on 2024 functional priorities, namely product, engineering and manufacturing considerations.

The day wrapped up with final comments from Todd and the group, just in time for appetizers and a little friendly competition at Top Golf. Despite the remarkable talent on display, BioFlyte will continue to focus on delivering biothreat security at scale instead of winning the Masters. For now, at least.

Day 2 – Wednesday, January 24

After a brief wrap-up and informal lunch, it was on to the second half of the day, which featured team meetings throughout the afternoon. This was a great way to bring together people who often collaborate from afar, helping to establish the kind of rapport that makes work more productive and enjoyable. Once the meetings were through, each team went out to dinner, giving them some more time together before departing the next day.

Thanks to everyone who attended. We appreciate their hard work, which made 2023 a transformative year for BioFlyte. We’re very fortunate to have a great team and look forward to seeing all we can accomplish together in 2024!
